Blue Christmas Service
The constant refrain on radio and television, in shopping malls and churches, about the happiness of the Christmas season, about getting together with family and friends, reminds many people of what they have lost or have never had.
The anguish of broken relationships, the insecurity of unemployment or the future, the weariness of ill health, the pain of isolation, the gut wrenching loss of a child, the loneliness of no longer having a beloved spouse to share each day, the loss of a dear family pet - all these can contribute to a feeling of being alone, of feeling "blue", in the midst of the society around us which seems bent on "being happy" and "celebrating". These are years when we hurt at Christmas time and can't get into the festivities others seem to be able to do.

Child & Youth Mental Health
Ro Bender, Child and Youth Social Worker provides supportive services to Coronach and area. He is able to help your family, specifically young people under 18, in many ways. Ro has been with the mental health team since March.
Depression, Anxiety, emotional, behavioral and social issues as well as adjustment difficulties are all within the services offered by mental health.
Mental illness affects people of all ages, educational and income levels, and cultures. 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental illness in their lifetime. Mental illness is treatable.
Clients may refer themselves or be referred by their physician or Nurse Practitioner.

Coronach Flu Clinic Dates
The SCHR Public Health Team and the Medical Health Officer encourages everyone to get an annual influenza shot to protect themselves and to protect their loved ones! The flu shot is the best way to avoid getting influenza because it stimulates the body to produce antibodies against the
influenza virus.

No Show Appointments
Our goal at the Coronach Primary Health Care Clinic, is to offer the best possible care to our patients. We become concerned when patients are unable to keep a scheduled appointment.
If you have an appointment that you cannot attend, please call us @
306-267-2200 so that we can reschedule the appointment for a date and time that will work for you.
Office hours are Monday and Thursday from 8:30 - 5:00. If you are calling on another day, please leave a detailed message with your name, time and date of appointment and I can go ahead and cancel it for you.
We understand circumstances may arise which make it impossible for patients to keep a scheduled appointment. Should this happen in the future, please call us as soon as you know the appointment will be missed. The earlier you let us know, the more likely we can offer your scheduled appointment to another patient.

Medical Scooter Awareness Program
Medical Scooter Awareness Program planned for
several locations this summer
The Acquired Brain Injury Program at Sun Country Health Region is pleased to
offer the Medical Scooter Awareness Program this summer in a location near you.
Several communities have been selected so far, and others can be added.
The safety program to inform the public about the best operating procedures for
the scooters can be held indoors or outdoors, in a health centre, parking lot,
mall or a blocked-off street. The program takes 1-2 hours and is provided at no
cost.
Information provided at the sessions includes safe operating, and the “rules of
the road” according to Saskatchewan Government Insurance. For instance, scooter
drivers are designated as pedestrians and must use sidewalks whenever possible.
Scooters are becoming more common in the Region as the scooter provides
increased independence for users. Safety has become a growing issue as the
amount of road traffic increases.
If you or a loved one use a medical scooter or are thinking about purchasing a
medical scooter, please consider attending one of these sessions.

3. Lampman Curling Rink, June 26, 1:30 p.m.

Exciting News!!!
The Coronach Primary Health Care Team is very excited to announce the newest member of our team, Nurse Practitioner, Sarah Nicol. Sarah will be coming to Coronach one day per week, that day being Thursdays.
Sarah's first day will be this Thursday, April 23rd and next Thursday April 30th. Please stay posted for schedule updates as she will be on holidays for a couple of weeks in May and one week in June.
Sarah is coming from Bengough and will continue her services there. Please remember, all of her patients can be seen in Bengough and Coronach.
